Raymond Wu was born in Taipei. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. It was in his sophomore year when Raymond became interested in poker by playing casually against his friends over the weekends.

When he started consistently winning these small casual games, he decided to take the game more seriously. Raymond went and purchased all the poker books out there and started to educate himself about the game concepts and theory. During his time in college he was playing online poker for side income, starting out from the micro stakes.

Within two and a half years Raymond has steadily built his bankroll to play as high as $25/$50 on PokerStars. He can be found multi-tabling anywhere from $2/$4 up to $25/$50. Raymond is a Supernova player on PokerStars and has his eyes on purchasing Porsche from the VIP Club using his Frequent Player Points.

Raymond made his debut on the live tournament scene at the 2008 APPT Macau event coming 5th in a side event for $2,310 USD. Since then he has been travelling around the world playing tournaments in Seoul, Manila and South Americas.  He came third in the $50,000 HKD High Roller One-Table Challenge during the 2009 July Macau Poker Cup cashing for $10,256 USD.

Besides poker Raymond interests are in fashion, sports video games and recently has taken up boxing. When not travelling around the world to play in tournaments, Raymond operates a poker coaching business, offering his poker knowledge and experience to students in Taipei and across Asia.

Raymond is part of PokerStars Team Asia Pro and can be found playing on PokerStars using the screen name ‘booshiet’.
